How long will it take you to make a website?
It can vary. A lot. It depends on many factors: size, complexity how much you pay me and the speed at which you produce the deliverables at your end. If at the start of the project you give me a perfectly clear idea of what you need then usually I can get on with it and build the site pretty quickly. If however you're the kind of person that doesn't return calls or e-mails then it can take considerably longer.
The design or "look" of your website is usually one of stages that takes the most time. Usually because I'm determined to make every website unique, somewhat original and tailored to your company, Sure, If you really want I can knock up a basic site in a couple of days, but it wont be particularly original and eye catching, Good design cant be rushed.
In the past the longest I've taken is about 2 months for a 92 page website (including all the graphic design and coming up with content) that I did in my spare time, so that might give you a general idea. Keep in mind its just little old me that will be working away as opposed to a team of developers.

Do you build websites that will allow me to sell items online?
Not at the moment. Right now I'm focusing my efforts on small/medium static websites that can be developed fairly quickly. Some e-Commerce websites can take a couple of months to build from start to finish and at the moment that isn't feasible, but I do plan to eventually start offering these.

Can I update the website myself?
If you are looking to make basic text updates or add the odd picture then it should be easy enough for you. However if your updates are going to be pretty complex and involve a bit more programming then it is probably better if you leave it to me as it can get messy.

How will I know if people are visiting my site?
I'll add a special meter that lets you see how many people (including their location) are on your site at any given time. You will also be able to see how they came across your website and how long they spent there - which is always handy. There is a hundred other things it can do too. It's 1984 all over again!

What do you need to know before you can give me with a price?
After a few e-mails and a usually a meeting I'll probably have a good idea of what you need and how big (or small) your website will be. From there I'll go away and start thinking up all sorts of great ideas to try and impress you and then work out how long it will take me. Next time we meet I'll give you a quote and stick to it - unless you make any major changes.
